We all remember it – picture day at school. Let’s banish the generic backdrops, the forced “Say Cheese!” smiles, and the packet of prints selected on your behalf for better or sometimes for worse… My aim is to set each kiddo at ease and spend several minutes capturing a glimpse of who they are at this moment in time. You’ll get the chance to select your prints from a private online gallery of retouched images. By taking this modern approach, you receive REAL, authentic portraits of your student you’ll love displaying in your home and sharing with loved ones!
At your session, I’ll spend a few minutes with each child, getting to know them a bit and making them feel comfortable with me. We’ll capture several images that reflect their personality in a variety of setups and poses. We’ll incorporate some school themed props and chairs for some of the images. We’ll also capture one traditional close-up, “head shot” style image.

If your selected package is more than $50, we’ll prepare an invoice for you. Balance payment will be due by the start time of our session.
Frequently Asked Questions
Back to School sessions are scheduled at my Downtown Kingsburg studio. The address is 1509 Draper St. I am upstairs above the Mercantile boutique and Bella Bakery. The door to my stairwell is between those two shops. Come up the stairs, and you will see my studio door at the top and a little to the right.
Think of a “print unit” as a sheet of photo paper. You can fit one 8×10 print on that sheet; or two 5×7 prints; four 3.5×5 prints; 8 wallet-sized prints.
Each package comes with a set number of print units, but you get to choose what sizes those prints are! Order what you need, without being stuck with a bunch of prints you’ll never use! If you need more, simply order extra print units!
At this time, purchasing a print package for each participating student is required in order to participate in Back to School sessions and/or to order any add-ons.
Orders may be picked up at my Downtown Kingsburg Studio when they are ready. If you would prefer I mail your order to you, let me know. Shipping on orders including only prints, or small products that fit into a flat print mailer envelope is $6.50. Shipping on orders including larger products is $12.
Absolutely! You will be able to place add-on orders directly in your proofing gallery after the session.
If you find you’re unable to attend the date and time you booked for your Back to School session, be in touch at (559) 393-1036 as soon as possible! I will let you know available timeslots and we’ll reschedule your session.
In the highly unlikely event we cannot find a time to reschedule, any payments made can be credited toward a future portrait session with me.
